Services
Trutherapy is a team of highly qualified professionals who strive to provide collaborative, integrated mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse treatment that meets the needs of our community.

Counseling services may be delivered to children or adults in an individual setting that will include evaluation, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and medication management depending on the individual needs of the client.
INDIVIDUAL

This structured, one-on-one relationship is focused on helping parents/caregivers address their child’s emotional and behavioral needs. Counselors assist parents/caregivers in navigating youth care systems such as education, mental health, juvenile justice, etc. It helps them find parent and self-help groups, and training, coaching and support programs for parents/caregivers. It also helps them identify formal and community resources like after-school programs, food assistance, summer camps, etc.
PARENTS

Family counseling can be beneficial for conflict between siblings, difficulty communicating or expressing emotion, marital problems, developing a functional and healthy relationship following a divorce, adapting to a major change, dealing with a chronic illness or death in the family. Benefits vary from family to family and can include developing healthy boundaries, improving communication, defining roles, providing strength and coping tools, addressing dysfunctional interactions, and improving problem-solving abilities. Family counseling aims to address psychological, behavioral, and emotional issues that cause problems in the family. Family members work with a therapist to develop and maintain a healthy relationship.

CHILDREN
With the help of therapy, children can learn how to build secure and healthy relationships. The therapist will work with the child to help them talk about their feelings, and learn new skills to cope with their problems. In many circumstances, the counseling relationship can function as a corrective experience for abusive or problematic past relationships and a secure base for exploration and experimentation. At TruTherapy, we offer many types of child therapy techniques including, child-centered play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, child-parent relationship therapy, emotionally focused therapy, art therapy, behavioral therapy, child trauma therapy, and child anger management therapy.

Couples counseling is for couples who are married or not, engaged or not, living together or not, previously married or never married, younger and older couples, heterosexual or same-sex couples, monogamous and non-monogamous. Whether you are looking to improve communication, trying to heal from an affair, want to grow your intimacy, develop trust, or just want to feel more connected, this is a great option. Couples' counseling typically includes individual therapy for both partners, as well as, couples therapy. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific situation.
COUPLES

At TruTherapy, the patient and therapist work together to determine whether or not medication management is the right option. If it is decided that the client will be referred to the psychiatrist, the therapist will send a referral for an evaluation and possible medication management. The front desk will contact the client after receiving the referral to schedule the psychiatric evaluation. If you are prescribed medication, you will also continue therapy with your therapist. The combination of these services can be beneficial to treatment. Medications can help you stabilize you while engaging in therapy can improve your chances of long-term recovery. Medications can treat underlying symptoms in acute and chronic situations and help patients maintain the equanimity they need to stick with the healing process. In some cases, patients may need long-term management of their medications. Once a patient is stabilized and has completed their treatment goals, their primary care physician can follow up their medications for easier convenience.
